Yes WVS first then it got ennobled ... I remember it happening and Granny getting her new hat badge ... she was immensely proud and there were great celebrations ... you’d think it was totally down to my granny’s involvement  Of course this was confirmed ;) when she was included in the Birthday Honours List. I had my first sip of champagne.

Herbi, I'm sure you've already considered it, but would Wiltshire Farm Foods be an option? My dad loved their dinners...

She'd probably manage half a mini meal in one sitting. It's worth considering if things get desperate. (Because she is, of course, stuck in her ways.) Thanks. It's quite expensive for her, but we can sub her/pay for it.
However:

"As the country gets to grips with Coronavirus, we are working hard to ensure everyone has access to the items that they need. We are especially proud to serve older members of our community. Therefore, during this time of high demand, our priority is to make sure our existing customer base are able to get the food that they need.

We will therefore not be accepting orders from new customers until at least Monday 23rd March so that we can prioritise delivering our food to our existing loyal customers."

There's these too which I mentioned recently. Not particularly cheap but they don't need a freezer. Delivery time currently 3-4 days (usually next day).

How does your mother manage to receive delivered goods? Can she get to the door? As has been said, there are still services similar to meals on wheels around, i saw a van yesterday - it was something in conjunction with Help the Aged. Presumably her carers know about that sort of thing? I don't think anyone like that delivers hot meals any more, just things for people or carers to microwave.

Herbi, Wiltshire do small portion meals as well as their normal size now. They're obviousy used to feeding little old ladies.

EM she leaves the door unlocked and they leave it in the kitchen ( )

PP the smallest meal would be x2 what she eats, but as long as it can safely be reheated... but a bit academic at the moment.

Maybe go on the FB page local to her area and see if there are any volunteers about . We have a lovely lady who runs Exmouth friends in need and has organised a group of volunteers to deliver flyers to people’s houses with her number on and she can then liase with her volunteers to pick up meds , shopping etc . There are also a few people on another local page volunteering their devices to help the vulnerable

Have done that. Nothing in her area yet. But three of my friends in Sheffield have offered to help and also, the woman from the pharmacy, (which is normally the enemy because they keep messing up her meds, allegedly) has offered to bring anything up if she needs it (they bring her meds up once a week.) She has some younger friends (In their sixties) who will help I think, and her new neighbours, (also bane of life since they moved in due to all the building work) will help too, I think. (His wife is helping her to try to set up Facetime.)

Maybe this is more about me wanting to control it so that I know she will be helped regularly, for sure, rather than any urgent need for me to do much. i.e. I feel responsible. I will keep on top of things, and if I can get her Sainsburys deliveries I will.

If I stop worrying about this, will probably start worrying about her getting it off her carers...?!
