Another London incident

What the heck is going on here in our capital? I hope all our London residents are okay. This sort of thing is just awful. Sounds like as usual Londoners are supporting each other wholeheartedly. :kneel:

I have checked up on my family members in London. All are okay. I am so humbled by the response of emergency services and on the local people rushing around helping each other.

Yes, Finsbury Park
The Rainbow / Astoria is near the station, there's a famous mosque just off the Seven Sisters Road (Finsbury Park Mosque) and one very near the station, opposite the Rainbow, and the van driver targeted the congregations of the mosques as they stood on the pavement

I am almost afraid to turn on the news every morning. It is not just the UK - it is wicked, hatedful people everywhere, not to mention careless, selfish and wrongly motivated ones. Thank goodness they are more than counterbalanced by the brave, good and caring ones.

The most encouraging thing about the Finsbury Park incident seems to be that having caught the van driver, the crows held him for the police, he wasn't subjected to mob violence, just handed over.
That took restraint, and clear thinking, the police are clearly rather chuffed about it
The "more in common" get togethers happened very close to the site of the incident yesterday

I love Lemn! I'm so glad he won the election to be our university Chancellor, he's been brilliant. Way better than the other option we had (Peter Mandelson!)

Whole life inside - the only sentence for this crime!
Spring ventures forth to plant the grain
And Summer dries the straw
Autumn gathers in the harvest
And Winter shuts the door

Yes, I was really please to read that the crowd did that. Can you imagine how angry and upset those people must have been!
What a lovely piece of writing by Lemn Sissay. Hits the spot perfectly for me. Thanks for sharing it, Sue!

The crowd, esp. the Imam, showed more tolerance than that creature deserved for what he did!
