Order yourself a latte, and a pastry (The virtual cinnamon buns are excellent today). And have a nice chat.

Your snowy photos are fantastic Uschi. I'll look forward to seeing yours Terry. But I can't promise I'll be posting any myself. (She says crossing her fingers)!

Got out again today, lovely spring day here..... Sorry.

I've been very busy today and I'm still not finished, so only a few comments, more later.

Love your moss-route! Genius! And that prunus ... haaach! It would die here. We're forecast -9 tonight.
The aubretia corner is sweet.

As for your stranger, he does look "hibbelig". Difficult to snap.

Only one from me. My overdecorated carrot cake.

I hope the colours of the icing will have faded a bit tomorrow.

Lovely vibrant flower colours Jane, two mad blokes and a car that looks like mine, nice set of pictures.
That cake looks far too good to cut Uschi, its nice to go over the top sometimes.
Nothing from me I am in a lazy mood at the moment

Thanks Terry,

It's gone dull and miserable here now too (you'll be glad to hear) ;) But I've uploaded a few more from when the sun came out and tonight's dinner. It should have been lunch but we forgot to take the meat out of the freezer last night. :?

I had to and I did. I don't want to keep it as an ornament.

Image

The other cake was a banana-Advokaat buttercream.

Image

The crocus is wonderful with the light coming from behind! I like the violas and the spooky house, too.

How did you do the little squares around the flies? Lovely picture!!! And dinner looks good. Except that I am replete with butter chicken!!!

Thank you. They're pretty little flowers I agree. The spooky house was me playing again. If you use PhotoScape I can tell you how I did it, but it won't make much sense otherwise. It's just a question of pressing buttons really.
uschi wrote:How did you do the little squares around the flies? Lovely picture!!! And dinner looks good. Except that I am replete with butter chicken!!!

I didn't do them. One of my contacts noticed the flies and I hadn't seen them. So she put a "note" on the photo to where they all were. She'd looked at the large size of the photo where they were more obvious.
The dinner was delicious, even though I cooked it. :o  Butter chicken sounds good too. :hungry:

That other cake of yours looks great too. Makes me hungry. :hungry:

Uschi - beautiful cakes, but I just love your white tablecloth - the embroidery looks lovely. I have promised myself that once I finish work I will make time to start doing some needlework. I always loved it as a child but haven't done much sewing for many years.

Busybee, the "cloth" is a plastic cloth bought at Aldi's.   I am clumsy and am tired of ironing table cloths and so use plastic a lot. It wasn't a very formal occasion. For that I would have done better.

My mother was the embroiderer/knitter/crocheter of the family. She could sit for hours at her projects. I think she was hyperactive. She relaxed after work by cranking out one pullover/cardigan/tablecloth after the other. She even crocheted lace tablecloths.

I am useless at that. I work with other materials.

She even crocheted lace tablecloths.

Uschi, my MIL was like that, always knitting or crocheting. I have so many table cloths, little table top clothes and a couple of large bed covers she crocheted with the old DMC cotton for my daughters and they don't want them! I am holding on to them, may be one day they will see their worth  !

I gave many of my mother's tablecloths to her sister. I would never use them as much and as she does and I know that they are appreciated.

Lovely pictures, Terry! I'll trade you some buns for banana-advokaat buttercream slices!!! They look super!!!

I also love the white crocus and snowdrop - wearing partner-look suits them and the daffs look so sunny. Isn't the orange stamen inside a deep purple crocus a wonderful sight?

I thought that Uschi but with all there troubles I wonder did he lose a loved one & goes there for the memouries, probably totally wrong although they say photogrphs never lie.

My first batch of buns were a disaster dough never rose at all so threw it away & started with fresh yeast much better second time, I could have ate the lot straight out of the oven

I like your stranger. Very comfortable in her skin. But what's an RDV????

Amazing that you have butterflies already. I am worried that my crocus will freeze.

The purple flower is a corydalis, I think. Gorgeous colours.
And the prunus is wonderful!

The berries are iris seed pots, I think. Like peony pods they harbour surprises.

Great snow sculptures!

We had fairly normal amounts of snow this winter and no drifts, so no chance to snap anything like that.
As for the discolouration, I think it adds interest to the pictures.

Definitely not today Terry, it's freezing here, again. :( I think I was as surprised to see it as you were, let alone it seeing me.

I liked her too, she was a very gentle woman. A RDV is a un rendez-vous, as in meeting, Uschi.

Thanks for the names. :)

I didn't get out today, as said it's gone really cold here. Or much colder than it has been. But here are the rest I took the other day.

Thanks for the explanation. I am a bit of an idiot as far as French is concerned.

Good pictures of Ludovic (you don't find any Ludwigs under 70 here - well, maybe in Bavaria, but not here).

Love your red leaves! The frost would nip them badly here.
Your celandines are also amazing. I hurry outside every morning to see whether my crocus have frozen overnight. ;) ;)

yes - lookIt's not really a rule here, but I have certainly noticed that very long threads took a long time to display. I was wondering if and when he'd decide it made sense to split.

Apparently I failed to lock this topic properly. Yes I split off this topic because I have noticed that extremely long topics seem to slow the entire board down when they are being accessed.

Now locked properly.

Apparently I shouldn't try and do complex things from my phone...
