Celebrity 5 Go

Have hardly ever found anything reasonable to watch on Channel 5, however, this boating in France programme was lovely gentle entertainment. It did help that Tom Conti was in it . . . .  :)

Channel 5 can be a bit hit or miss can't it? Glad you have good reviews of it. I have ear marked it for episode two and a repeat of episode one at some point as I missed it in favour of something else.

I watched that in the absence of any else to interest me last night ... a nice gentle way of passing an hour ;) :tu:

I enjoyed it too....but I’m waiting to see where the lock pours into the boats ;) :D .

Has anyone else looked up the boat hire prices?

I heard an interview plugging it last week and thought it sounded great. It was ok but perhaps just tad too much of a gentle entertainment for me. TV was so awful last week it was at least nice to have something a bit watchable. The architecture was interesting.

They are always exhorbitant .... when I lived on my narrowboat, I rented it out once or twice, but only to someone I knew .. I charged him £200 a week ... for a boat the size of mine (4 berth- 65 ft) I could have asked 4 times that !

Mr Pig and I use to rent narrowboats when we were courting and very poor. By the time we had children the price was way out of our range. I can remember we went Eurocamping in Brittany several times because it was cheaper. :o :o :o
